KNITTING TABLE
Rosewood, Stained Veneer, Cotton yarn
The Knitting Table is part of an investigative project on creative repair practices, pairing owners with makers to transform cherished objects. A 1962 Rashad & Relling award-winning table, passed down through generations, was restored and reinterpreted with care. Rosewood frameworks were conserved, the top surface renewed with stained veneer marquetry, and dome storage reimagined using a stitched timber technique, honoring the owner’s story while embedding contemporary craftsmanship and narrative into the piece.
Created for - Transformative Repair project by Dr. Guy Keulemans and Dr. Trent Jansen.
Collaborative project with Bolaji Teniola.
