PLANTATION DIARAMA
Rock maple, Tyre Rubber Crumbs, Stainless Steel
An abstract depiction of the rubber plantations in Kerala, India, reminiscent of childhood memories spent playing among the extensive array of rubber trees in the Malabar region of the state. The landscape undergoes a remarkable transformation through the repeated presence of identical trees and the lush foliage, forming an impenetrable canopy overhead. The diorama, with its deliberately skewed structure, captures the intricate interplay of tree trunks as observed from various angles and perspectives.
Presented at Hysteresis , Sydney design week 2023 by Powerhouse Museum.
